Are you converted?

This was a topic the Lord laid on my heart to speak on since last year. Of course when the Lord tells you to do something we must obey and obey immediately, because He knows why He asks things of us, we can't see that far ahead in the future. So I did have to repent to God, although God has totally blessed me and improved my life for the better ðŸ˜‰. If you are on social media you have heard the news, and the beautiful physical manifestation of this blog. I truly allowed God to write my love story. I will announce it here with a blog post after a surprise proposal that's being planned for me. Don't ask me. lol I have no idea when and where, I just have my hopes and dreams, and hinted a few things on Pinterest and on a power-point (GOL..giggle out loud)But I have been quite busy. From completing my Paralegal program, helping my sisters and catering to my family, working, and being super active in church among other things. But the tugging on my heart to write and release this blog has finally reached the point that I have to.I get this question a lot but most recently quite often. How did I feel when I became Born Again? Was there a change? What happens after that.I have touched on many blogs on the steps and gifts we that have confessed Jesus Christ are to seek for, once we accept Him. The gift of Sanctification which can be read HERE and the gift of the Holy Ghost, written HERE.

But when I became born again, meaning I took the steps noted on the 'I want to know Jesus' PAGEI felt a sense of urgency to want to get to know Jesus better, to tap into this power I have always heard about in church all my life, and to turn from my old ways. So I knew from the night before at a singles conference, I couldn't bring along my ex-boyfriend. I just knew from the little things I knew of a holy God, I couldn't drink what I used to drink, go to the places clubs, parties, hangouts I used to go, and I couldn't have the same friends I used to have. The thing was it JUST didn't work out that way. I kept in touch with my boyfriend for a month after my Born Again date. It was a typical relationship, ups and downs due to the emotions of me wanting to break up and him wanting to keep me. SO I would read my bible, and while all these changes inwardly were going on and I was realizing Jesus had come for the fornicating, lying, serial dating, and stealing girls like me, I would go back to engaging in my old lifestyle of conversation with my ex-bf. I would listen to the music that Jesus would never listen to with all the lust and words of this world. The fact is I WAS NOT CONVERTED. UNTIL I decided to take what I was reading in the bible and what I was being convicted off in my heart and ACT on it.Many Christians are simply NOT converted.  They take what they hear in the churches they go to, bible and books they read, and even things they get convicted of and throw it by the wayside. I am convinced of this because people in their outward and inward look the same, with a Christ labeled t-shirt, and Christ logo on their social media. Christians join organizations of the world, but put a christian tag on it, like Jesus really approved of fraternities and sororities for example. Christ called Christians to be  truly part of ONE organization and that was to be His Church, and His Church only.

H O W  TO  K N O W  I F  Y O U  A R E  T RU L Y   CO N V E R T E D:

  1. You can internally mark your old life and your new life in Christ. There is no blur or confusion that the music, attitude, dressing and friends you had before you decided to follow Jesus, is still marked as your identity to others. It reads in:

    Ephesians 4:22-24

22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

  2. You have identified your sin, and are putting clear road blocks to not go back to them. Like  for me, dating and flirting with men were my sins. So I stopped getting every guys phone number or adding them on social media. I wouldn't talk to any man, Christian or not after 11pm. If stealing is yours, you meditate on scripture on stealing and when you are near things you steal you move away immediately.  Although conversion is not sanctification, it is a step before. It needs to happen because it sets up the thirst and hunger needed for God to take away your old heart and put in a new on which is sanctification. It reads in:

    James 4:8

8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts                                                                                                                  ❤️
  3. Lastly the desire to want to read the word of God, fellowship with people who have identified with Christ, and the amount of time you want to spend getting to know more of God must and will increase. If you are a Christian and you find yourself decreasing in wanting to spend time with God, you must seek conversion. Yes people may say this is a troubled time for the individual and they just need time to bounce back, but if its constant behavior then the mind of Christ that must be LEARNED from by Him alone must be done so. We read this in

Romans 12:1-2

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ultimately authentically repenting, and hatred of sin;a deep and true commitment to wanting to take Jesus seriously, will lead your spirit man to become converted. Conversion is the catalyst needed after salvation to set off a prosperous Christian life. God is calling YOU to be converted today. If you haven't said yes to Jesus, will you say Yes to him today. He doesn't want you struggling in the secret. Jesus wants to teach you the survival skills no other book or religion can truly teach you But what the Bible and the Holy Spirit that is given to those who trust in Him. Will you accept Jesus? Then will you seek conversion?
