God's view on BIRTH CONTROL

So, I had a lot of people weigh in and answer the question:

"Can Christian women use birth control? NO? YES? and WHY?"

This is my revelation, understanding, and God's view of birth control.

What is the role of a woman?

The role of women within this culture has changed drastically. No matter the changes, God according to the bible has still called us to act, think, be, and speak a certain way. We are Queens, a WOMAN, not men and apple of God's eye!

Genesis 1:27

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Woman, along-side men from the very beginning were both made in the image of God! So when you hear people say the Christian faith says a woman is to be looked down upon, is incorrect.

Genesis 2:18

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Genesis 2:18 explains the role of a woman further by saying

Not only are we made in God's image so we embody his spirit. We were the only creatures made from a rib and not dirt. But specially we are also called to be a help meet to our man.

Some women in our generation have kind of dismissed this clause, saying they don't need to be helping no man, the man should be helping them. Woman we must understanding this is the bible we are reading, inspired by God, who made you and hand knitted you in the womb! He made all of us women to be a help meet to our husband, not to only climb the corporate ladder, or do our own things outside the home. This simple obedient helps the next generation of the seed we bear in our womb, helps fulfill the calling God has bestowed on your man, and helps God pour down his blessings and fulfill the calling he has upon our lives as a woman.

Genesis 1:28

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

As woman one of our roles is to be fruitful and multiply! It does not say a certain number, but God has that number already pre-selected for us, whether we plan the number or not.

Children in God's eyes are VERY IMPORTANT!

Psalm 127:3-5

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

In saying these, the roles of a woman are very important! As women we carry a spirit of excellency as we are also made in his image, we are to be a help meet to our husband and ,and to multiply the earth.

In addition there are instructions God gives us to aid our roles as woman. You can find them in Proverbs 31, Ephesians 5:25-310 1 Peter 3:3-4. These instructions does't state we should necessarily single handedly carry the burden as the head of an household. If married, it does not put a burden on us to work long hours. It's important we ascribe to Gods will for our life and not our will. It also helps us understand when married all actions outside the home are a joint decision with God and our husband and not of our own freewill only.

The issue in question which is as Christians are we to use birth control?

Where did birth control methods come from?

A full history of how birth control from the diaphragm and condoms to pills can be found here: HISTORY

Let's break the functions of birth control down. Especially the Pill. All other non natural methods of birth control married couples may choose to engage in essentially work, like the pill. First, the pill exists to inhibit ovulation, which is its primary means of birth control. Second, the pill thickens the cervical mucus with the effect that it becomes more difficult for sperm to travel to the egg. Third, the pill thins and shrivels the lining of the uterus so that it is unable or less able to facilitate the implantation of the newly fertilized egg.

The first two reasons one can say may be acceptable for christian couples to use as they are contraceptive in nature, but the third reasoning with this medically made birth control method, can be potentially abortive in that it seeks to disrupt the ongoing life of a fertilized egg.
With this reasoning, it is important Christian couples be informed of the potential abortive nature of birth control pills so that they can study the matter further and prayerfully come to an informed decision according to their own conscience and the leading of God the Holy Spirit.

Some may then say, because it says in

1 Corinthians 7:5

Don’t withhold yourselves from each other unless you agree to do so for a set time to devote yourselves to prayer. Then you should get back together so that Satan doesn’t use your lack of self-control to tempt you.

That because sex is for pleasure we must then have birth control to be able to enjoy ourselves. NO. God sees sex to be done between a married man and woman to express intimacy, provide comfort, bless the spouse, but ultimately naturally it is to bring forth children!

Some may say God is a God of order, in having like 10 children in our generation of expenses today, or because we may have other purposes in life besides the most essentials listed above we should use birth control. THIS IS NOT God's will. God's will, no matter what we are doing , will acome to pass. He is a God of order so you have faith he won't give you more than you are to handle. Your purpose outside your calling as a carrier of excellency, help meet to your husband, and commandment to be fruitful and multiply should not compromise these roles God's given you. This is something that the adversary is truly fooling women today with. Being independent as a Christian woman is being a proverbs 31 and using your gifts to help provide financially not compromising your role as a mother.

A Beautiful family the Dugger family. A Christian family in our current generation whom have 19 children by the grace of God. They are able to provide for all of them and they use crafty ways to do so, on one income, the dads. It's by God's grace they received a tv contract and of course that provides extra income. It's truly a blessing. If God is able to do it for them, he is able to do it for you! A special letters for mom's who may be feeling overwhelmed by Michelle Dugger http://www.duggarfamily.com/content/mothers

Education has been the biggest tool in aiding woman's thinking of how many children they should have. Some woman are able to have ample amounts of children, but because woman are able to be educated, we understand what it takes to have a child be successful in all areas of life. It takes time, money, and extra effort. Some then say birth control is needed. Education is great but again it can't compromise our faith, yet it should give us liberty on how many seed/s we plan on bearing, so I call us all to pray on it.

Lastly using birth control as a single was never the intent of the making of birth control. If you read the history of it above, and watch this short video by TIME magazine, you'll see it was for "married woman". None the less single woman took it and this created an upsurge of promiscuity and adultery . We are to one, not engage in sexual acts outside of marriage. Two, in saying one can use birth control for medical implications as a single and married, know God is still a God of healing and he is able to heal whatever you may have .

So I personally cannot tell you if birth control is a SIN or not. I personally cannot tell you either if you should or should not use it. But there are priorities needed to be taken in a woman's life. I pray again as a christian couple you study the side effects of birth control, this blog post, and the bible to prayerfully come to an informed decision according to your own conscience and the leading of God the Holy Spirit.
May God Bless you.
