The Truth about Deliverance

Friday, February 14th 2014

There is a lot of confusion in regards to Deliverance. What God's views are and the ministry that many have fallen in-slaved to, spending money and un-necessary time, ultimately not understanding their birth-right in Jesus Christ.

I came across this webiste that included a LIST (CLICK TO VIEW) of characteristics that warranted one to need Deliverance. Simple things of normality, these ministers have identified one is being pursued by demonic spirits, therefore they need Deleiverance. It would take me a whole day to go through each individually, but I will address one or two. A sister who had a difficult pregnancy needs deliverance? In Genesis 3:16 the Lord professed due to the entering of sin in the world, the process of birth will cause great pain. Therefore a sister having a difficult pregnancy is not demonic and therefore deliverance is Not needed.  A person who is engaged in profitless hardwork needs deliverance? I mean there are statistics that show a person who starts their own buisness may labor for years before they gain profit. Does that really mean they are demonic and therefore need deliverance? NO!

What is deliverance you ask?

Deliverance is defined as "a rescue from bondage or danger."  Deliverance is defined differently in the Old and New Testament. In the Old testmant deleiverance is viewed as the act of God removing people whom were in the midst of trouble of danger. In the New Testament, God is the subject and his people are always the object of deliverance. The descriptions of temporal deliverance in the Old Testament which is what many of these deliverance ministries use, serve as symbolic representations of the spiritual deliverance from sin which is available only through Christ.

Deliverance is not done by works. It's not done by prayer sessions, jumping up and down, physicial sacrifice and vain babbling. If you need deliverance which we all do before we become Born Again, not due to the list mentioned above, it is gained through the great deliverer.

Who is the great deliverer?

The great deliverer is Jesus Christ. By receiving, believing, and following his commandments, He offers deliverance from mankind’s greatest peril—sin, evil, death and judgment. By God’s power, we are delivered from this present evil age and from the power of Satan’s reign.

Galatians 1:4

 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father

Colossians 1:13

 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son

1 John 3:8

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Luke 10:19

 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

When we come into Christ however we are given a new life, we are given a new birth. Just like a baby is newly born and needs to learn how to speak and walk, we too as new believers need to learn God's heart, mind, and gain knowledge in spiritual things. In renewing our mind the sins we once loved start to  be distasteful because we understand it is displeasing to God. Therefore deliverance is temporal. You are not demonic if you still find yourself struggling with a sin, you need to take it to the Lord, fast, pray and God surely will take it away.

1 Corinthians 10:13

 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

If you know your right in Christ do you still need deliverance?

No! I have heard when you come into Christ, due to the ancestors we once had one needs deliverance to break away demonic chains. It's all wrong! Jesus truly did that for you on the cross. You can pray to God to hear your cries, but it doesn't warrant you to be demonic! It’s important to understand that, as believers, we already have eternal victory over Satan and demons. We can be delivered from their influence in our lives by using two weapons God has given us as part of our spiritual armor with which we battle “against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. The believer needs to defend himself or herself with the shield of faith and use the offensive weapon of the Word of God. Against these two, no spirit can prevail. By holding up the shield of faith, we extinguish the flaming spiritual arrows they send against us, arrows of lust, doubt, guilt, jealousy, evil speech, and all manner of temptations. With the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, we overcome the evil one by proving his temptations to be lies because he is the father of lies. John’s second letter commends the young Christians whose spiritual strength came from the Word of God living in them. By the offensive weapon of the Truth, we overcome the evil one.

Ephesians 6:12-17

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

1 John 2:14

14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

Deliverance comes through Jesus Christ. You don't have to wrestle with whatever you are dealing with inward alone. There was one who did all for you on the Cross. Truly come to him and believe <3

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

I AM PRAYING AND STANDING IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU. I LOVE YOU.
