I got Baptized!!: The Truth about Water Baptism

Monday October 21st , 2013
I finally got baptized yall!!!!!!!! God be the glory! YES! YES! It was an amazing experience. You definitely do feel the new birth experience as in being totally dead to the world!!! If you've been following me, you know I received Jesus into my life last year on November 25th, 2012. I shared my testimony HERE. Since then I have grown tremendously in faith and continue to grow and act on seeing others free in Christ like I am! I went though a 10 week Discipleship class, learning 13 studies on major topics of the bible. It was amazing!

 (My VIDEO)
God commands after one becomes Born Again(John 3:3) to be baptized by water, ONE time, in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 28:19

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matthew 3:13-17

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Jesus himself was baptized by John in a flowing body of water. A river. He was totally submerged in the water, as you see in scriptures he came straight out the water meaning his entire body was submerged in the water once. THERE WAS NO SPRINKLING OF WATER, that act does not count as baptism. This type of action is predominantly done in the Catholic faith.
Salvation is definitely great in God's eyes! But being baptized, is a commandment by God and brings obedience and a multitude of blessings!
Let's talk more about water baptism. Because many denominations have skewed the truth and actions of water baptism that's clearly NOT in the scripture. Let's look at it in three points:
I. Misconception on water baptism
II. Meaning of water baptism
III. Scriptural method of water baptism
I.
  • All churches partake in water baptism, but the methods vary from church to church. It is clear  that One must be baptized ONCE in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit (Matthew 28:19)
  • Salvation does not come through water baptism! But only by the grace of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. One can't make this mistake and still have not confessed ones sins, and is not walking with Christ when they get baptized. Doing so is being done in vain!
 II.
  • Baptism is derived from the Greek word "baptiso=emerg. Once one is submerged you emerge by being dead of sin Romans 6:3 and with Christ. (Colossians 3:12)
 III.
  • Matthew 28:19 & 3:16; Acts 2: 38-41; 8:35-41; 10: 47-48; 16:30-33. He that BELEIEVETH & is BAPTIZED is SAVED by JESUS CHRIST!

My experience was wonderful. Again if you have confessed your sins, and now live a life for Christ, I implore you to get baptized. Make it known publicly that you are dead to the world and now live for JESUS CHRIST! If you have been falsely baptized as a baby or earlier in your life, whether  you got sprinkled with water, or was not converted or born again from this sinful world,  I encourage you to do it again the right way.
